“Nick Yelloly, the winner of the LMP2 class at Le Mans 24 Hours, described this year’s race as having more ups and downs than he had ever seen before, particularly in the roller-coaster final hour. Yelloly, together with Tom Dillmann and Jakub Smiechowski in the #43 Inter Europol ORECA-Gibson 07, engaged in a tight battle with the #48 VDS Panis Racing team for most of the race. Despite receiving a penalty for speeding in the pitlane with 30 minutes left, Yelloly managed to secure the win as the #48 car encountered a suspension issue. Yelloly expressed his frustration at his own mistake but was thrilled to claim victory after a nail-biting finish. Esteban Masson from the #48 team acknowledged the strong competition and the unfortunate outcome, expressing determination to come back stronger in the future races.”
